**Important Announcement Concerning FCAT Testing - Tuesday, April 22nd
Today’s 10th grade FCAT Reading test was canceled due to technical issues. These problems were a result of malfunctioning technology at Pearson, the company that handles the software platform for all high stakes computer-based testing in the state of Florida. At the time of this email being sent, the issues have not been resolved. We hope the system will resume functionality by morning, so this is our plan moving forward:
Wednesday, April 23rd: 10th grade FCAT Reading Make-ups for Part 1 of the test (which was taken on Monday). Students who were absent on Monday should report to the Media Center first period.
Thursday, April 24th: 10th FCAT Reading, Part 2 for all sophomores. We will follow our typical Thursday block schedule, and students will report to their testing rooms during the blocks already assigned to them. Students in the Yellow and Blue groups will take their tests during the first period block. Students in the Green group will report to their testing rooms during the 3rd period block. And students in the Pink group will go to first lunch, then report to their testing rooms.
Friday, April 25th: 10th grade FCAT Reading Make-ups for Part 2 of the test. This is only for students who were absent on Thursday. All 10th grade students who were absent on Thursday should report to the Media Center first period.
Hopefully, the remainder of the computer-based testing will go smoothly. Parents, please continue to monitor your kids to ensure they have a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days. So far, our students have been great, so you all are doing a wonderful job!
Thank you for your patience and support!

You might notice that this new website doesn't contain a lot of the latest, everyday-type of announcements. That's because we are making full use of Facebook and Twitter to get the latest and greatest information out there, including sports highlights, student-created videos, and pictures of what's currently happening at WSHS.
What if you don't have a Facebook or Twitter account?
That's no problem, because both of those pages are public, which means anyone can view them, even without having to log in.
But if you are on Facebook, we'd encourage you to "Like" our page
and if you are on Twitter, follow us
. You won't be disappointed. We post often.
