Event Summary

WSHS Dean of Students Octavius “Ocky” Clark will walk from WSHS to Florida
State University’s (FSU) Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. The walk
entitled Ocky Clark’s Strides for Students is a two-fold walk that will allow Ocky to
retrace the footsteps of his late grandfather, who walked from the Florida panhandle
to the Sanford area in the 1900’s in search of work, while also attempting to raise
funds for WSHS.

Try Outs for Black History Month Program
Try outs for Black History Month Program will be held Wednesday 12/10/14. 
This will be held in the auditorium during lunch starting at 11:00AM.  Please
stop by and see Mrs. Washington to sign up for your audition.  If you do  not sign up
you cannot audition.  The theme this year is "A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture".

Debate
Congratulations to Melissa King and Walter Gerstel, who placed 4th of 33 teams in Public forum
at this weekend's Debate Tournament.  They brought home another trophy for Winter Springs!

Evening Driver's Ed
Evening Driver's Ed for 2nd Semester will be offered at WSHS, Lyman, and Seminole HS.  Classes are on
Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 3:15-5:15PM.  Applications are available in Guidance.
Registration ends on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.  Monday/Wednesday class starts January 26, 2015
and Tuesday/Thursday class starts on January 27, 2015.

The WSHS PTSA will be offering their annual scholarship to a deserving senior. If you are interested, the form can be found here.


SCCPTA Scholarships
SCCPTA wants your eligible High School Seniors, for available college scholarships. 
Our scholarships are for those students who plan to attend college in Florida.  

Students who are eligible for Bright Futures CAN also apply for our SCCPTA scholarship.

Young Entrepreneurs Academy
If you are a student who someday hopes to own his/her own business, please check out the Young Entrepreneurs Academy. This is a limited access program that will give selected students the opportunity to learn from and network with local business leaders. At the end of the program, students will come out with a business license. There is a cost associated with the program. WSHS Tutoring News
Tutoring will be held at WSHS every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 2:30-4:00 p.m.  We will offer tutoring in English, Math, and Science only.  All students will need to report to 5-111(Mr. Brooks) classroom.Click the link below for the application.

Winter Springs High School Graduation will take place at the CFE Arena on UCF's campus on
Tuesday, May 26th, 2015. The specific time of the ceremony is forthcoming.
