Tardy Policy: (Revised 1/6/14)
Students and Parents, please be advised of a change to the WSHS tardy policy that will take effect immediately. Due to the excessive number of students arriving late to school and late to class throughout the school day, the WSHS Administrative team has seen it fit to implement the following policy for the 2nd semester:

1st Unexcused Tardy: Warning
2nd Unexcused Tardy: 1 Hour After School Wednesday detention (to be held in the cafeteria from 1:30pm-2:30pm).
3rd Unexcused Tardy: 2 Hour Wednesday detention (to be held in the cafeteria from 1:30pm-3:30pm)
4 or more Unexcused Tardies: ISS

Notes:
* If a student is late two times within the same day, the student will be immediately sent to ISS (In School Suspension).

* If a student accumulates additional detentions and is already scheduled for a detention in a given week, that student will be sanctioned a 2 hour Wednesday detention for the following week.

* Failure to serve a 1 hour detention will result in assignment to the 2 hour detention the following week.

* Failure to serve a 2 hour detention will result in the assignment of 1 day of ISS.

* A student will not be allowed to serve more than 4 days of ISS due to tardiness. In the event of a student who continuously violates the tardy policy, Out of School suspension will be sanctioned.

* There will be some days where Mr. Siciliano will be on campus to exclusively handle tardies. On these days, Mr. Siciliano will take the students who arrive late without an acceptable excuse and have them complete work detail. The students will serve work detail for the entire period in which they were late. On these days, where Mr. Siciliano takes the students to work detail, the work detail will be the sanction in lieu of a Wednesday detention.

Scholarship Opportunities Program

The Central Florida Chapter of the Air Force Association will host a “Scholarship Opportunities Program” on Sunday, 22 March 2015 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.   The event will be hosted by the Air Force ROTC Detachment on the main campus of the University of Central Florida in room 106 of the “Classroom II” building.

The Scholarship Opportunities Program will cover opportunities for attending the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and participating in the Air Force ROTC Scholarship Program.  Cadets from both the Air Force Academy and Air Force ROTC will be on hand to provide insight into both programs and answer any questions.  Also back by popular demand this year is a presentation on gaining entrance to the AF Academy through the aligned Preparatory Schools.    Students who attend these schools have a very high chance of gaining admission the AF Academy after completing one year at the Preparatory School.  This is a promising alternative for applicants who may not be as competitive with their current peers but still have high motivation and determination to attend the AF Academy.

The scholarship opportunities program is most important to current high school juniors, however, students of ANY grade are welcome.  Parents are welcome and highly encouraged to attend!

SASA ( Seminole Association of School Administrators)
The SASA ( Seminole Association of School Administrators) program awards three scholarships each year to graduating seniors whose parent is a full-time employee of the Seminole County Public Schools District, will attend a Florida public institution, and meet all other requirements outlined in the application.
Copies of the SASA application are located in the foyer of the Guidance Department.

The deadline for the SASA scholarship is April 10th, 2015.
