Athletic Department Mission Statement

The mission of the Winter Springs High School Athletics Department is to facilitate programs of excellence as defined by the Florida High School Athletic Association. By implementing a holistic approach that balances family, academics, and athletics, we will nurture the development of social responsibility and encourage the pursuit of post graduation career paths and athletic aspirations.  We will focus on providing for the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, our staff, and our fans and spectators.  We value the lessons taught by athletic participation, and seek to develop the personal, ethical, physical, and intellectual skills necessary for success beyond graduation.  Additionally, our staff and student-athletes will exhibit pride, respect, and integrity while representing our athletics department, our school, and our community.

Prospective student-athletes must have ALL physical and clearance paperwork updated annually, and turned in to the Athletic Department PRIOR to tryouts.  Only those student-athletes cleared by the department will be released and eligible for tryouts.

Please CLICK on the above link to access our ATHLETIC PHYSICAL AND CLEARANCE PAPERWORK.  Only fully completed packets of ALL paperwork will be accepted by the Department.  Please take a moment to ensure all appropriate and accurate information is included with all applicable signatures.  Please contact our Department staff with questions, or stop by the Athletic Office on campus to pick up hard copies of paperwork as needed.  We also encourage you to view the Florida Hospital video outlining the FHSAA baseline concussion protocol.  This testing is conducted annually according to the FHSAA bylaws and Winter Springs High School internal policy.  More important information can also be found under the Athletic Training link on our webpage.  Finally, visit the link providing important information on school and student-athlete supplemental insurance coverage.  This coverage can be used as a basic insurance policy for families needing coverage to qualify for athletic participation, or for families wanting to purchase supplemental accident coverage to assist with medical bills that may not be covered through existing insurance policies.
