A native of Seminole County, Dr. Mickey Reynolds attended Idyllwilde Elementary, Lakeview Middle, and Lake Mary High School before moving to Gainesville to attend UF. Dr. Reynolds graduated with a Bachelor’s in English Education from UCF, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UF, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCF.
Her teaching experience includes posts at University High School in Orlando, P.K. Yonge D.R.S. in Gainesville, and Winter Springs High School. She moved back to Seminole County from Gainesville to open Crooms Academy of Information Technology as the Technology Facilitator and served for nine years as an Assistant Principal at both Crooms Academy and Seminole High School before being selected as principal of Winter Springs High School in July of 2012.
Dr. Reynolds is married to Mark Plemens, with whom she has two children, Jayce and Hannah. She also enjoys her two step-sons, Connor and Justin, whose marriage to Mandy has resulted in two, beautiful grandchildren, Jaelyn and Brayden.
Dr. Reynolds comes from a family of educators, all of whom have dedicated their careers to high schools in Seminole County. Her father, Don, served as a high school principal at both Seminole and Lake Mary High. Her mother, Ann, and two sisters, Tracy and Christy, served as English teachers in Seminole County. In fact, Tracy is currently teaching at Lake Brantley High. Dr. Reynolds’ niece, Susi, recently graduated from Winter Springs High and is attending school at Florida State, and her nephew, Franky, is now a senior at Winter Springs High. Although her children, Jayce and Hannah, are not yet old enough to attend high school, they are enrolled in public schools in Seminole County. Dr. Reynolds feels proud that she and her family members have both participated in and benefitted from the quality public education offered by Seminole County Public Schools.

Mrs. Kristi Draus is not from the central Florida area, as she grew up moving around the country in an Air Force family. She attended the first two years of high school in Misawa, Japan, and finished in northern California. She was the first to graduate from college in her family, attending first junior college and then earning a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of West Florida and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stetson. She’s been in education since 2007, teaching English, student government, reading, and coaching cheerleading. She spent time as a discipline dean, writing coach, and assistant principal with Orange County Public Schools before making the jump to Seminole County Public Schools to be a Winter Springs Bear. At Winter Springs, Mrs. Draus supervising guidance, the English and reading departments, our Bear Connections mentoring program, and the BEAR Academy for incoming ninth graders.
Mrs. Draus and her husband, Jesse, have one son, Beckham, and spend their time riding bikes, watching movies, and playing soccer.

Mr. Hunter joins Winter Springs High School this school year and is responsible for the Math, Physical Education, World Languages, and Career and Technical Education departments. He is also responsible for the Winter Springs High School SAC and BAC. Mr. Hunter worked the previous three years as an Assistant Principal at Crooms Academy of Information Technology in Sanford and four years as a math teacher and Dean at Hagerty High School in Oviedo. Prior to moving to Seminole county, he worked as a math teacher in Southern California for several years. Originally from the Detroit area, Mr. Hunter earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in Education Leadership from the American College of Education.
Mr. Hunter loves spending time with his wife Julie and their two young children, Avery and Miles. He enjoys running and cycling and is an Ironman Triathlon finisher. He excited to join the Winter Springs High School family and is looking forward to a great year.

Mrs. Jaime Washington is a native of Florida and began her education career in 2000. Mrs. Washington received her Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Sciences from Florida A&M University. She went on to Nova Southeastern University and received her Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership. Currently, she is working on her doctorate degree in Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning.
After leaving the classroom, she moved into administration and served as a Dean of Students at Sanford Middle and moved over to Lake Brantley High School as an Assistant Principal. She has been at Winter Springs High School since 2009. She currently serves as the supervising administrator over the following programs:
Director of Advanced Placement, Attendance, MTSS / PBS, Science, Social Studies, Textbooks, Dividends, Catering, Clinic Support, Families in Transition / Supply Pantry.
Her goal in education is to provide all students with the opportunity to excel in academics, athletics, and fine arts so that they may become positive, contributing members of our school and community. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and traveling with her family.
School Administration Manager
Contact Info: Email: Matt_Hesselbart@scps.us Matt Hesselbart is in his 20th year at Winter Springs and is one of the original faculty members to open Winter Springs High School in 1997. Prior to Mr. Hesselbart serving as School Administration Manager he was Dean of Students and taught Business and Computer Education courses.
Mr. Hesselbart is a Graduate of Manatee High School; he has earned his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from The University of Evansville in 1994 and a Secondary Education degree from Muskingum College in 1996. Mr. Hesselbart received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education in 2010.
Mr. Hesselbart was a Four year varsity football letter winner at the University of Evansville. He served two years as an assistant football coach for Muskingum College where he was in charge of the varsity offensive line. Mr. Hesselbart was involved with the WSHS football program in different capacities for seventeen years. He was Head Football coach during the 2009-2012 seasons and Offensive Coordinator from 1997-2013. Mr. Hesselbart and his wife Maria have two children; Hanna (12yrs) and Hilary (6yrs). His hobbies are family, football and fishing.

Mr. Clark began his educational career as one of the original faculty members to open the doors of Winter Springs H.S. during the fall of 1997. Mr. Clark is a native son of Central Florida and graduated from Seminole H.S. in 1979. He is proud to claim that he was born in Seminole County , attended Seminole High School and graduated from Florida State University! A former world class track and field athlete and three time All-American, Mr. Clark shattered middle distance records while a student athlete at Florida State .
1991 was a year of phenomenal achievements in academics and in athletics. Mr. Clark received his Masters degree in Educational Administration from National University in San Diego , California . He also received a Gold Medal presented by President Fidel Castro in the Pan American Games held in Havana, Cuba.
In 1999 he coached the girls track team to a state championship and his 4x800 relays have won three state titles.
A true Patriot to his country, having served at the Southeast Air Defense Sector protecting the skies over the United States after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. He is also a Major in the United States Air Force Reserves and a veteran of the Iraq war. Mr. Clark has two daughters Cierra and Carina.
