It is that time of year that we begin to realize that our seniors are going down the “home stretch” of their high school experience. Although they have plenty of important academic hurdles to clear before we say goodbye to them we do need to begin planning some of our end of the year activities. Please check out our spring newsletter that will be arriving in your home soon for important information about senior activities. In the meantime here are several important notices for our students and their parents…..

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Who may purchase tickets to Prom?
A: Any Junior or Senior at WSHS may purchase up to 2 tickets to Prom.
Q: Can students bring a guest who does not attend WSHS?
A: Yes, but the buyer needs to fill out the bottom portion of the Ticket Sales Form (Permission to Bring Outside Guest section) with information about their guest before purchasing tickets.
Q: Can tickets be purchased with a check?
A: Yes. Please make checks payable to WSHS. In the event that a check does not clear, full payment must be made in cash prior to Prom, or the ticket will be voided.
Q: Do I need to bring my ticket to Prom?
A: No, but you must have a photo ID at Prom in order to get in.
Q: Will there be a professional photographer working at Prom?
A: Yes. He will be located back stage. Students will be receiving information about the different picture packages when tickets are purchased. All photo packages must be paid for the evening of Prom, so make sure you remember to bring money. It’s also a good idea to head straight to the photographer as soon as you get to Hard Rock, before you begin dancing. The picture package information can also be downloaded from the WSHS website.
Q: When will we vote for Prom Court?
A: Voting for Prom Court will take place during ticket sales. Only Seniors may vote. Seniors will receive a ballot when they purchase a Prom Ticket (or have a ticket purchased for them).
Q: When will the Prom King & Queen be crowned at Prom?
A: Promptly at 10:00pm.
Q: Will there be food & drinks at Prom?
A: Yes and lots of it. All food & drinks are included in your ticket price. Students should consider this when they make dinner arrangements. It would be a good idea to save money and eat light before coming to the dance. Hard Rock will provide appetizer-type foods and a wide variety of desserts.
Q: Where will I park & how much will it cost?
A: Parking at Universal is free for Florida Residents after 6:00pm. Drivers must show a photo ID
with proof of Florida Residence. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the parking garage to
Hard Rock Live,
which is located in the rear of the Universal City Walk.
If students would like to pay for parking a Valet is also available.
Q: Are there any restaurants near Hard Rock Live?
A: There are several restaurants located at Universal City Walk within a 5-minute walk
of Hard Rock Live.
Q: Will there be a place to keep my belongings?
A: We cannot guarantee the safety of any items students leave unattended. Plan to only bring the things you absolutely need, such as your ID & a small camera.
Q: Will efforts be made to make sure the event is safe & enjoyable for everyone?
A: Yes. Hard Rock utilizes metal detectors at all their events. Hard Rock security personnel will run the metal detectors. In addition, WSHS Administrators will be looking for any evidence of alcohol or drug use. Anyone who attempts to enter the event under the influence of drugs or alcohol or with illegal items in their possession will not be permitted to enter. Further action will be taken in accordance with SCPS school board policy. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
