Senior Memory Pages for the Yearbook:
It is time to get out your photo albums and plan a senior memory page for your senior. Download an order form by following the link at the top of the page. We custom design every senior memory page. All you have to do is select the pictures and write the message as you want it to appear on the page. Please submit the ad contract, pictures, message, and payment to Ms. Stout in room 4-111 or drop them off in an envelope at the front desk by December 15th. Completed orders with pictures, messages and payment received by September 30th  receive a special discount. Memory pages are designed using a photo of your senior as the background. Be sure to include an individual photo of your senior with plenty of “background” space for this purpose.  View sample layouts by following the link at the top of the page. Remember, senior memory pages are not limited to purchase by parents. If aunts and uncles, grandparents, churches, or businesses want to honor a special senior or group of seniors, this offer is extended to them as well.

Buy Yearbooks And Senior Memory Ads Online!
Winter Springs is pleased to bring you the online convenience of our new payment processing system, PaySchools. This program allows you to make yearbook-related payments online via e-check or credit card at your convenience, all from our school’s Web site. Access our online payment processing system by clicking on the above link to the PaySchools online store and purchase a yearbook or senior memory ad.

How It Works
The first time you access PaySchools, you will be asked to create a username and password. After you login, simply select the item(s) you wish to purchase then choose to pay by e-check or credit card. You will then enter the required bank or credit card account information into the system. PaySchools uses “Secure Sockets Layer” (SSL) software, required passwords throughout the program, and does not store personal bank or credit card information to ensure privacy and security for users. After you complete your purchase, an e-mail confirmation and receipt will immediately be sent to you. Be sure to keep this receipt for your personal records.

Senior Portraits:
Leonard’s  is our official yearbook photography company. Even if you are purchasing senior portraits from another source, the only way to be sure your student will be included in the senior section of the yearbook is to have a yearbook picture taken at Leonard’s. The sitting fee for the basic yearbook portrait is $10. Please call (800) 215-4852 or log onto their website www.Leonards.com to schedule an appointment. The deadline to have senior portraits taken is September 2nd. Contact Ms. Stout for more info.

Underclassmen Pictures for 2011-2012:
Picture day is September 2nd and picture re-takes are October 7th .  Students will take their pictures through their English Classes. Picture Package order forms will be distributed to students the week before picture day. You may also pre-order pictures online at www.Leonards.com/prepay using the online password C36603. You always have the option to purchase pictures later in the year by going to www.Leonards.com or calling Leonard’s customer service line at 1-800-215-4852.

Program Overview:
Yearbook is the generic name given to the four Journalism classes which meet during 5th and 6th periods in the Publications Lab (room 4-111). Yearbook is open to freshmen with previous journalism/photography experience, sophomores, juniors and seniors. An application process with teacher recommendations is required to be selected for yearbook staff. Applications are distributed in February every year.
Students applying for yearbook staff need to be aware that after school time and weekend work will be required to meet publishing deadlines. The staff takes pictures, conducts surveys and interviews to gather information, writes stories, creates headlines and captions, designs page layouts, establishes themes, produces cover and end-sheet art, supervises underclass and club pictures and sponsors the final blood drive each year. Also, students are required to sell commercial ad’s as part of the course requirements.
All work is done in digital format in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
The yearbook has won national, regional and state awards over the years and is gaining recognition as one of the top books in the country.
